Retool and Reform Education.

  1. Education is saturated with unfunded mandates from the federal and state levels. Review and revise with the input of teachers who are on the front lines.

  2. Address the problems that cause PTSD in our students versus the band-aid approach of instituting social and emotional learning (SEL).

  3. End Common Core and yearly high-stakes testing.

  4. Retool the curriculum for high school that allows students to choose a college, trade, or business track that will help to prepare students to work or go to college after high school, if they so choose.

  5. There is no such thing as a "free lunch."  College should be for those who can meet the rigors of academia and want to pursue a higher education.  There are many options to make college affordable such as community college, commute to college, and the military.  But has anyone ever asked, why is college so expensive?

  6. I sincerely believed in strong neighborhood schools with a robust community recreation program; however, the State has closed many neighborhood schools and forced children to attend a school out of their neighborhood. Schools in conjunction with recreation departments used to be the center of a community. Therefore, if parents choose  to send their children to a private, parochial, or charter school, the money should follow the child.

  7. Parents should have the choice to opted out of any curriculum them deem inappropriate for their child.
